Dr Mysore Nataraja is a prolific writer with twenty books to his credit. He has published collections of poetry, essays, short stories, and plays in both Kannada and English. He has edited numerous books and translated several poems from English into Kannada as well as from Kannada into English. He has translated Kusumakara Devaragennuru’s Kannada novel The Void and the Womb (iUniverse, 2011) and a collection of twelve selected Kannada short stories by Vasudhendra into English as The Unforgiving City and Other Stories (Penguin, 2021). He is a recipient of several literary awards, including the coveted Gorur Ramaswamy Iyengar Award (2004) and the prestigious Alwa’s Nudisiri Award (2018). He is a graduate in civil engineering from UVCE, Bangalore University, with a master’s from IIT, Mumbai, and a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He served as an internationally recognized technical expert at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where he was awarded the highest civilian award for his outstanding service to the organization.
