Dr PLNG Rao has over four and a half decades of experience in medical education, clinical practice, research, and academic administration. He completed his MBBS from Kurnool Medical College, MS in General Surgery, and MCh in Pediatric Surgery from PGIMER, Chandigarh, and MNAMS from the National Board of Examinations.
He began his career in 1979 at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and served as Professor, Head of Paediatric Surgery, and Associate Dean. He held various positions such as the first Registrar, Director of Quality and Compliance, and Pro Vice Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education. He also served as Dean of Melaka Manipal Medical College and Vice Chancellor of Manipal International University, Malaysia.
He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and a member of several professional bodies, with publications in national and international journals and conference presentations.
