Mr Krishnananda Nayak is presently working in MCOAHS, Manipal as an Assistant Professor in Cardiovascular Technology. He has acquired his MSc in cardiovascular technology from MCOAHS and has additional MSc in Physics and MPhil to his credentials. Ever enthusiastic about teaching, he always teaches cardiology residents about various aspects of echocardiography and interventions. With a special interest in paediatric heart disease, he is currently pursuing his PhD in utility of foetal echocardiography in intra-uterine growth retardation.

    Healthy Heart There is an increase in the number of patients undergoing coronary interventions in India. This is easily attributable to the increased prevalence of metabolic syndrome, diabetes and provides a brief overview to the community about common symptoms of heart disease. Details of coronary interventions are performed, and their relative indications and complications associated with the same are explained in simple terms. Healthy Heart briefly explains about how open heart surgery and bypass are performed. Importantly, it describes how patients are supposed to live a healthy, active life to prevent heart disease.
