
Na Mogasale
Dr Na Mogasale (1944) was born in Kasaragod and has settled at Kantavara where he served for 37 years as a government medical officer. Through his literary and cultural organisations like Kantavara Kannada Sangha, Allama Prabhu Peetha, and Vardhamana Prashasthi Peetha, he made Kantavara a literary and cultural centre. He is best known for his voluminous writings in various genres – mainly novels, poems, and short stories. Of his many novels, ‘Ullanghane’ (the original version of ‘Defiance’) and ‘Mukhantara’ are considered the major works.
