Dr Madhuri Behari was trained as a Movement Disorders specialist at the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen’s Square, London, UK under Professor C D Marsden. On retuning to India, she developed the super-specialty of movement disorders in India, towards which end she held several workshops and CMEs. She encouraged her students to take topics on Movement Disorders for their research, improved knowledge and understanding the problems of patients of Parkinson’s disease. She served the International Parkinson disease and Movement Disorders Society (MDS) for five years and Asian Oceanian Section of MDS for eight years in various capacities. She is the founder President of Movement Disorders Society of India (MDSI). She continues to be an active member of MDSI.
