
Beate Illg
Beate Illg is a Professor of Communication Science at Jade University for Applied Sciences, Wilhelmshaven (Germany) since 2013. Her research fields are international journalism (focus on Asia), media reception, empirical methods (focus on qualitative methods) and gender. She worked for several foundations in Laos (Deutsche Welle Akademie), Vietnam (Friedrich Ebert Stiftung) and Nepal (Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst, now Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, GIZ) for various projects. Before starting her academic career, she worked in the field of media research and opinion research.
